Cetraben® Emollient Bath Additive is a clinically effective formulation suitable for all ages. The product is fragrance, lanolin and preservative free and contains a high percentage of light liquid paraffin to replace lost skin oils and thereby increase skin surface lipids (SSL).

Cetraben Bath Additive can be used in the bath or shower and uses an optic measure to ensure accurate dosing, ease of use and minimal wastage:

  • 10-20ml (adult bath) = up to 50 baths per prescription
  • 5-10ml (child’s bath) = up to 100 baths per prescription

How to use

The Cetraben® Emollient Bath Additive can be used in both the bath and the shower as a wash product.

If using as a bath additive:

  • Run a warm bath as normal
  • Squeeze and release the bottle to fill the optic measurement
  • The easy to use optic dispenses 10ml every time, which is sufficient for 10cm of water in a bath
  • On average 10ml should be added to a child’s bath and 20ml to an adult’s

If using as a soap substitute:

  • Squeeze and release the bottle to fill the optic measurement
  • Dispense into the hand as required and apply gently to the skin as a soap substitute
  • Rinse well with water

Ingredients: Light Liquid Paraffin.

Indications: Symptomatic relief of red, inflamed, damaged, dry or chapped skin, especially when associated with endogenous or exogenous eczema.

Adverse reactions: Very rarely, mild skin reactions have been seen.

Precautions: Allergy to any of the ingredients. Care should be taken when entering or leaving the bath. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not smoke or go near naked flames – risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc.) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up but not totally remove it.

Contra-indications: Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Dosage, method of use and method of administration: As a bath additive: Add to a warm water bath (1-2 capfuls for adults, ½-1 capfuls for children). Alternatively, apply lightly to wet skin with a sponge before showering.
