About

Cetraben® Lotion provides a lighter option for patients for use between flare-ups. Its light and cosmetically acceptable feel makes it ideal for use on the face, hands and hirsute skin. Cetraben® Lotion can be used where patient compliance is a challenge. It contains:

  • White soft paraffin forms a protective barrier on skin surface and decreases transepidermal water loss TEWL
  • Light liquid paraffin replaces lost skin oils to increase skin surface lipids (SSL)
  • Glycerin (humectant) attracts and holds water in the outer layers of the skin and to compensate for reduced levels of Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) in diseased and older skin

The fuss-free, airless pumps provide <2% wastage and reduces the risk of bacterial contamination, in adherence with NICE recommendations.2

Cetraben® Lotion is available in a 500ml Rieke pump for ease of use to help improve patient adherence.

How to use

Cetraben® Lotion is simple to apply, suitable for use on the hands and face throughout the day. The lotion is packaged with a pump dispenser, helping avoid mess and waste while ensuring easy and measured applications.

  • Apply to the skin as often as required, or directed by your pharmacist or GP, to ensure continued hydration throughout the day. We recommend that you treat skin as frequently as possible, or as a minimum at least twice a day
  • Apply liberally to the affected skin, as often as necessary, ensuring that the area is well covered
  • Apply gently in the direction of hair growth until absorbed
  • Avoid rubbing vigorously as this could trigger itching, creating more heat in the skin
  • Apply emollient before and after you bathe to protect skin from dryness

How to prime the Cetraben® pump:

Remove the tamper evident clip

Place fingertip over the nozzle

Fully depress the pump several times to expel any air

Check lotion is being dispensed. If not, repeat steps 2-4
